Our parish is situated in the heart of Mid Devon and is part of the Crediton Mission Community.

Parish life is centred around the Parish Church of St. Swithun which is in the attractive village of Sandford, 2 miles north of Crediton.

The Church of St. Swithun has historic links with a Charter granted by

King Edward VI in 1547 to twelve Church Governors, consisting of nine from Crediton and three from Sandford.

The Charter purchased by the Governors, as representatives of the people of the ancient Parish, endowed rights of ownership to the hereditaments and goods of Holy Cross Church, Crediton and St Swithun’s Church, Sandford.

The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Upton Hellions is in the east of the parish, whilst Beacon Church serves the small communities around the village of New Buildings.

Please join us in worship and other events at any of our churches where you will receive a warm welcome.
