Baptism is our response to the love that God has shown to us. It is our commitment to live a life according to God’s law of love and to ask for the Holy Spirit to help us to do this.
It has been traditional in the Church of England to baptise infants and children, but you can be baptised at any age.
When baptising children it is usual to have godparents, adults who have been baptised themselves, who are able to support and help the child in its spiritual life.
If you would like you or your child to be baptised at any of our churches, please be in contact with the Revd Paul Fillery at your soonest convenience.
Christening is another name used for baptism which means we belong to Christ.
